Are you looking for a neutral Christmas tree inspiration? In this post, I’m going to show you how I decorated my flocked tree with brown, tan, and neutral Christmas ornaments.
I can’t believe that Christmas is less than a month away. This year has been busy for me and my family so I wasn’t overly excited to decorate for Christmas. We took the girls to The Great Wolf Lodge at the beginning of this month. When we got home, hubby told me that I should be preparing to decorate for Christmas. LOL.
I am usually excited to decorate for Christmas but I know it’s going to take so much work to put the tree up. I’ve seen many bloggers on Instagram that already started decorating for Christmas. So I started gathering all my Christmas decor and making a plan on how I wanted my theme to look this year.

I love the look of a real tree. I noticed that more and more bloggers are using green Christmas trees than flocked trees. So I decided to use my old Christmas tree from Target in my dining area and use the flocked tree in my living room.
I added some ribbons and bows which are very trendy right now. The ornaments I used are from Walmart and Hobby Lobby.
In my opinion, Hobby Lobby is the best place to find a good selection of ornaments at a good price. They almost always have sales going on. I found many fall decors that can also be used as Christmas ornament or decor. These tan ribbons are fall decor and it was on clearance for 75% off.
Mixing different shapes, colors, textures, and sheens is key to decorating Christmas trees. I loved neutrals and it helps that I already have brown decors for fall so I did not have to change the pillowcase 🙂
In the dining room, I put up a tree and used neutrals and used blue/sage green ribbons and ornaments. I am loving the neutrals right now but I also incorporated some metallics so it doesn’t look too boring or flat.
I made these boho tassel ornaments with supplies I got from Dollar Tree. Most of the ornaments are from Dollar Tree and Hobby Lobby. This garland is old but I love the pearls and gold in it. The top part of this Christmas tree is broken and wobbles. LOL. I’m going to replace it and get a new Christmas tree after Christmas (when Christmas trees are 50% off or more).
This Christmas collar is also from Hobby Lobby. As you can tell, Hobby Lobby is my favorite store to shop for decor 🙂
I have a funny story to share. I originally put up my old green Christmas tree in the dining room. It took me a couple of hours to decorate it. But after looking at the tree for a while, I realized that I much prefer the flocked Christmas tree. So I decided to take it down and sell it. LOL! I was able to sell it on FB Marketplace pretty fast. Then, of course, I had to put up another tree (the broken one) and decorated it.
I’m so glad that I replaced the tree with a flocked tree because the size looks more appropriate for the room. Not too big and not too small. It looks perfect in the corner space.
Flocked trees are much brighter and much easier to decorate because you can use any color. Green Christmas trees on the other hand, in my opinion, are not as easy to decorate especially if you use dark-colored ornaments. However, I’ve seen modern Christmas trees that look like real trees. If you prefer to have a real tree look this tree might be a good option for you.

Christmas is my favorite time of the year. I love seeing all the Christmas decor because it makes the house look so festive and fun! But most importantly, I hope we remember that this season is all about the birth of Jesus Christ. Isaiah 9:6 For to us a child is born, to us a son is given, and the government will be on his shoulders. And he will be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
I’m loving all the neutral Christmas trees and decorations right now, and I hope this post inspires you to try a different Christmas tree theme this year.
