Do you like neutral or black and white Christmas ornaments? Today, I’ll show you how to make these super easy Dollar Tree DIY ornaments.
I’ve been watching Dollar Tree Christmas DIY’s on Youtube and I challenged myself to make my own. It’s amazing how what people do with Dollar Tree finds.
I was excited to get my tree up. I started decorating for Christmas in early November. I don’t normally go big on fall decor but I go all out for Christmas. It’s my favorite time of the year!
This year I went with a black and white theme with wood accents. I’d been brainstorming for ideas with modern boho ornaments. I looked for black plaid wrapping paper but I didn’t find it. What I found was a black and white plaid scarf.
All the supplies in this DIY are from Dollar Tree.
Supplies
- Dollar Tree plaid scarf
- Foam Board
- Ex-acto knife or razor knife
- Twine
- Dollar Tree luau skirt
- Glue gun
- Scissors
- Greenery, red berries (optional)
Directions
- Take 6 pieces of luau skirt and braid it. Glue the ends and put it aside.
- Take the foam board and cut a circle using an x-acto knife. I used a round lid as a guide.
- Take the scarf and cut a circle bigger than the round foam board.
- Glue the fabric onto the back of the foam board using hot glue gun.
- Cover the sides of the round foam board with the braided luau skirt.
- Glue it on and cut excess.
- Cut about 6-8 inches of twine and glue it onto the back. That’s it.

I’m delighted with how the ornaments turned out. They remind me of Joanna Gaines’ style. It totally fits the neutral theme I chose for this year. I kept it minimalist with simple ornaments.
I love the braided edging. I think it looks so cute. I love the boho vibe and it’s unique, not something you’ll see in a store.
