Hi, Friends.
Today I am going to share another Dollar Tree Christmas DIY.
I love to decorate my home with faux fur. It adds a cozy and inviting warmth to a room. If you want to add interest and texture to your decor then good options are faux fur pillows, throw blankets and area rugs.
Growing up in the Philippines, I did not do many DIY projects – except for making jewelry. We don’t have craft stores. You might find some craft supplies at the department store but the selection is limited.
When I moved to the US, I was surprised at how many people do DIYs. Just search Pinterest and you’ll find endless ideas.
The Dollar Tree is perfect for DIYs. I’ve enjoyed how it enables me to make my own decor at a fraction of the cost of new. I’m guessing from the number of Dollar Tree pins a lot of others feel the same.
Both of these projects rely on just two basic supplies. Yes, that’s right. Just two basic supplies. Super, right?
DIY Faux Fur Christmas Garland
You will need:
- glue gun
- dusters from Dollar Tree (shown below)
Directions
Split the duster in half. You’ll end up with 2 separate pieces. Don’t panic this is not a pad. LOL.
Taking one of the halves, put glue on the duster so that it can be folded shut like a narrow card, never be reopened, keeping the fluff on the outside. Do this with each of the halves.
Take the pieces you’ve glued shut and glue them end to end to make your garland.
You can make short ones or long ones. I made 8 shorter ones and staggered them around the most visible areas of the Christmas tree.
DIY Faux Fur Christmas Wreath
You will need:
- glue gun
- dusters from Dollar Tree
- metal wire wreath frame from Dollar Tree
- decorations of your choosing (such as berries and greenery)
Directions
As before, split the dusters in half.
Glue several dusters to the frame.
You’re nearly done and that was almost too easy.
You may decorate it but I actually like it as is.
Here, I added berries and greenery, but you could add almost anything that suits the season.
I hope you enjoyed this easy DIY. Have a great day!

Thank you so much! The wreath is super easy to make. Thanks for stopping by 🙂
Jennabel what a great look with both of your DIYs. I am pinning this. My daughter and I always do a craft during time together Thanksgiving. This is going to be the craft we do. Thanks for sharing.
Aw. Thank you so much, Terrie. That sounds great. I look forward to doing crafts with my daughter. She is 6yo and her favorite crafts to do right now is slime 🙂 Have fun crafting!
Wow; those do make a really pretty faux fur look. I would never have thought to use dusters for that but I love it. Pinned.
Thank you. I’m glad to hear that. I found similar ribbons at Michaels but it’s not as fluffy as this one. Thank you for stopping by 🙂
Such a cute idea! And your Christmas tree is just beautiful!
Hi, Roseann. Thank you so much. This is one of my favorite DIY projects because it’s super easy to make 🙂
Ooo! I never thought of this or saw it until your blog. My daughter will want to make this ASAP when I show her. Very cute and creative.
That’s soo cute. Thank, you! My daughter loves to do crafts too. I’m sure it’ll turn out great. Have fun 🙂
Cute! I would never guess you used dusters for your wreath!
Thank you, Lauren. I got the idea from Hobby Lobby but I did not want to spend too much money for it. I love how the wreath turned out and how inexpensive it is to make 🙂
I may have missed it, but how much did you spend to make a garland for your tree? Clever idea and something I may want to try next year.
Hi, Erlene. That’s a good question. I’d say between $6-$10. I made some last year and added some more this year. The trick is to make shorter ones and stagger it all around the tree to save $$$ 🙂
I’m still in awe that these gorgeous decorations are made with dollar tree dusters. The garland and the wreath look great and beautiful Christmas decorations.
Aw. You are so kind. Thank you very much, Jenny.
What a great idea! I totally want to make something out of this–it’s so soft and cozy looking!
Thank you, Pamela. Isn’t it? I’m obsessed with faux fur decor and winter wonderland Christmas theme 🙂
No way! I would never have put swifters with faux feathers. Has inspired me to think of all the different ways this craft project could turn into. Love the garland. Pinned.
Lol. Thank you Kelli.I’m so glad to hear this. It means a lot to me. This is what my blog is all about 🙂
