Spring is almost here. Although, we just had snow today and it feels like spring it’s months away. My daffodils and tulips are starting to come up which gives me hope that spring will be here soon.

Pastels are one of my favorite colors. I am a neutral girl but pastels would be my second favorite color. Blush pinks, light green, blue, and yellow are the most common colors for spring.

This year’s (2024) color of the year is persimmon. Target and Walmart have great selections of trendy and stylish home decor. If you want to check out Studio Mcgee’s and Better Home and Gardens’ spring home decor collection check out my other blog post here.

How To Prepare Your Living Room For Spring?

Declutter and Simplify

Spring cleaning isn’t just about tidying up – it’s an opportunity to declutter your living room and create a more spacious, inviting environment. Clear out unnecessary items, organize storage spaces, and streamline decor for a fresh, clutter-free look. It’s easier to relax and unwind in a space that feels inviting and orderly.

Lighten Up with Bright Colors

It’s time to put away the dark-colored throw pillows and introduce pops of color of spring. Opt for cheerful pastels like green, pink, lavender, and yellows, to give your living room a fresh look. Scatter throw pillows, throw blankets, and artwork using light color tones to instantly change the ambiance.

Add Light and Airy Fabrics

Swap out heavy curtains and upholstery for lightweight fabrics that allow sunlight to filter through. Sheer curtains or linen drapes can create an airy feel while maximizing natural light. Opt for breathable materials like cotton or bamboo for throws and pillows to enhance comfort during the warmer season.

Bring the Indoors In

Embrace the spirit of spring by incorporating elements from the outdoors like greenery into your living room. Arrange fresh flowers in vases or jars to add a touch of botanical beauty to your space. You can also introduce houseplants to purify the air and create a serene, and inviting space.

Refresh with Seasonal Decor

Small changes can make a big impact when it comes to refreshing your living room for spring. Swap out winter-themed decor for items that evoke the season, such as floral-patterned cushions, botanical prints, or decorative pieces inspired by nature.

Embrace Outdoor Living

As the weather becomes milder, extend your living space outdoors by creating a seamless transition from your living room to the patio or garden. Arrange outdoor furniture such as lounge chairs or a dining set to encourage al fresco entertaining and relaxation. Accessorize with outdoor rugs, throw pillows, and lanterns to enhance the ambiance and make the most of the cool spring weather.
