This post is all above Intex above ground pool. Are you planning to add an above swimming pool in your backyard for summer? In this post, I am going to share my honest review of the Intex graphite panel above-ground pool.
My kids have been wanting to get a bigger pool. They both love water and love to swim. We have a creek in our backyard but it’s not very clean. It’s also not very safe because there are spots that have strong currents.
My oldest daughter loved to hang out at her friend’s house in the summer because they have an above-ground pool. I normally set up a kiddie pool or blow-up pool in the summer. However, they are too big now and they prefer a deeper pool that they can swim in.
I’ve looked for other options like joining the local YMCA or community pool. The membership fee is not very cheap. Also, I don’t like to go to the public swimming pool because it can get very crowd. Our family will prefer to have the privacy of having a pool in our backyard.
Hubby wasn’t fond of the idea at first. He loves the view of the backyard. In fact, the view is the reason why we bought the house. We did not like the interior of the house but we saw the potential.

I finally convinced hubby to get the pool. I bought the pool from eBay at a great price. It was open-box but it was never used.
We bought our Intex pool in August 2021. It sat in our garage for a year before we assembled it. Honestly, I was scared and nervous about the cost and amount of time it will take to maintain the pool. I thought about selling it many times but hubby said we should keep it.
We finally agreed on a spot where to put the pool. Our yard is not very level and we originally thought about taking on the project ourselves. Hubby decided to hire a contractor to level the ground.
It was a great decision because I did not realize how slope our yard was. They had machines to make the job done faster and easier. It would have been a nightmare if we did it ourselves.
Preparing the yard to make it level is the most important thing in putting an above-ground pool. The ground has to be level otherwise the foundation will be compromised and will shorten the life span of the pool.

Hello! We just purchased this pool but are unsure what to do over the winter. We live in Minnesota and winters are unpredictable but usually cold and snowy. We want to winterize it to prevent the waste of water every year, but I am wondering what you think as a pool owner:)
Hi Victoria,
We winterized the pool last year and it held up fine. I plan on writing a post about closing the pool in the fall 🙂
