Modern Farmhouse Fall Decor

I am so glad fall is finally here, aren’t you? Fall reminds me of apple pies, pumpkin rolls and hot chocolate. We’ve had hot and rainy summer in PA, so I am so ready for the cooler temps. I look forward to taking walks with my family and apple picking at Paulus Orchard.

One of the things I change every season are pillows. Yes, I have a pillow obsession.  My husband keeps asking me to separate the pillows, that they’re having babies. He’s a minimalist, but I like to rotate my decor to keep things fresh.  (Sorry, hubby!) I  got these pillows new from Goodwill (originally from Target) last year. I love the way the colors pop when they’re paired with neutrals.

The key is finding pillows that you can use for two or more seasons. For instance, I use coral and blue pillows for spring and summer. I use red, black/white and plaid pillows for fall and Christmas. My must-haves are neutral colored pillows that work well all year long.

This year I decided to add faux cotton stems. I’ve been eyeing these for a while now. I also incorporate faux pumpkins on my coffee table and mantel. I painted them white and gold for a modern look.

On my front porch, I put mums and pumpkins from Dollar Tree. Because really, fall is not complete without them. I found this Gather here sign at Dollar Tree also.  I shop there regularly because when you’re on a budget all you need is a bit of creativity to make some pretty good stuff.

What are your favorite fall activities?
