This post is all about neutral tablescapes for spring or summer. Are you looking for a coastal boho tablescape idea for your patio? In this post, I will show you how to create a super easy table setting for dinners or parties.
Al fresco dining is one of our favorite things to do when the weather is out. I am so happy that the weather is finally getting warmer. My family and I love to grill and eat on our deck.
There’s something about eating outside, getting fresh air, and listening to the birds chirping. This makes my heart so happy. How I wish the weather is nice and warm all year long.
Today, I want to share how I created this neutral boho tablescape. Mother’s Day is coming up and this would be a perfect tablescape for your mom or friends 🙂

Add A Neutral Tablecloth
For the table setting, first, I added a neutral tablecloth. I don’t usually use tablecloths outdoors except for plastic ones when we have parties. However, I think tablecloths dress up any table and make it look a little extra special.
Think about when you go to a fancy restaurant. Did you notice that they always use tablecloths and cloth napkins? I think it really adds to the ambiance.
I got this tablecloth at a yard sale. You can also find them at Walmart or Amazon. But if you’re cheap like me, you can find a tablecloth at your local thrift stores 🙂
Use Woven Or Jute Placemats
I love these placemats. These were gifted to us for our wedding in the Philippines. You can find similar placemats from Amazon or Hobby Lobby.
Placemats are my favorite way to add color and texture. Think of it like a throw pillow on your couch. You can easily change it up every season.
Add Neutral Color Plates And Bowls
I love white or neutral plates. These plates I got from Target a few years ago. We don’t use them as much because they are heavy and they get scratched easily.
Last year, we decided to replace our plates with Corelle. I love how Corelle plates don’t break easily and are pretty light. This is perfect especially when you have small kids.
Don’t forget to add your favorite glassware to complete the tablescape.
Add Gold Cutlery
This gold cutlery is one of my go-to when we have people over. It really elevates the look of the table and it looks great against the white tablecloth and plates. This cutlery set is from Hobby Lobby. It was on clearance for 80% off so I bought two sets.
Use Rattan or Jute Napkin Rings
These rattan table rings are from Hobby Lobby. I love how they add a boho coastal vibe to the table setting.
Use Fresh Flowers
Last but not least, add fresh flowers. I almost always use fresh flowers when decorating outdoor spaces. Honestly, I don’t like to spend money on fresh flowers because they can be expensive. If you want to have fresh flowers in spring or summer, then you have to do some planting.
I planted tulips, peonies, dahlias, coneflowers, hydrangeas, and zinnias that bloom from spring to summer. This is the cheapest way to have fresh flowers all summer long.
