11 Super Easy Steps To Add Boho Style To Your Bedroom

Boho bedroom for girls

This post is all about how to give your bedroom a boho style. Do you want to decorate your bedroom boho style? In this post, I will share how to add a cozy boho design to your bedroom.

Boho style is my favorite design style. It comes in different styles like minimalist, maximalist, modern, and chic. You can mix patterns, colors, and textures into fabrics, lamps, and furniture. Some people look to add bold colors and plants to their spaces.

My style is mostly minimalist and modern boho. I like casual boho decor that is not too busy. I prefer mostly neutral with a hint of color like this muted pink. To me, a clutter-free room looks calming and relaxing. If you’ve been to a tropical place for a vacation, you’ll see light colors on sheets, curtains, and decors. It’ll instantly make you feel like you’re on vacation.

This is our guest room and the smallest room in our house. I did not like the paneling and we thought about replacing the walls with drywall. We got pregnant with our second baby and we never got around to it, LOL. Shiplap and slat walls are still trendy right now so I figured we’ll just leave it for now and replace it in the near future.

What are the colors of boho?

Muted colors or neutral colors are the most common colors used in boho decor. However, if you like more colors, you can add bold colors to your decor. I’m obsessed with neutral or muted colors paired with wood accents to add warmth to the room.

How can I make my bedroom boho?

Use throw pillows and blankets with pom-poms, tassels, or fringe.

Add light-colored or neutral curtains. I like to add sheer white curtains so it doesn’t block the light. This works if you have blinds to keep the room darker at night.

Use cane furniture. Cane furniture is so popular right now. They add texture to any room. I’ve been wanting to get one for our bedroom but it’s not in our budget right now, lol.

Add nightstands and/or dressers. Mix modern furniture into your space to make look more contemporary and not too casual. Matchy furniture is out. But make sure you don’t buy too much textured furniture. For instance, if you buy a cane bed, opt for a simple mid-century or modern nightstand and dresser. If you’re not sure, it’s better to start with simple furniture and add texture by using lamps and pillows.

Incorporate area rug. Pick a rug that is neutral so you can use any accent color you want. I prefer a simple area rug as a base and add colors to your wall decor or pillows.

Greenery is always a good idea. Greenery takes any space to the next level. It’s one of my favorite home decors to add to any room.

Add a mirror to make the room look bigger. Place the mirror facing the window so it will reflect the light making the room look brighter.
